Vintage Herb Chopper/Mezzaluna/Hachoirs - c. 1920

Vintage Herb Chopper/Mezzaluna/Hachoirs - c. 1920

from $90.00
Can you smell the chopped mirepoix already? These handheld French herb choppers (hachoir) have been used throughout France for generations to make cutting herbs quick and easy. And they are getting more and more difficult for me to find. Believe me when I say I've tried all the modern gadgets for this purpose and always come back to my mezzaluna. This collection is in outstanding condition with just the right amount of patina.

Each chopper is unique and different but all are approximately 5" high and 10" long (message me if you want an exact measurement on one). While I don't normally recommend vintage products be used on food items, this I think, would be an exception. Especially, since the blades are still sharp and in good condition (except #7, see photo 7A). But, of course, always use your own judgement.

Notice each photo's numbering and choose accordingly from the drop-down menu. (Price is for one.)

All items are hand-selected by me and are purchased in France.

Shipping & Returns:

I am based in the US so all items will be shipped quickly using USPS Priority Mail or USPS First Class for lighter items (usually arrival is 2-3 days after shipping). Cost of shipping is calculated by USPS based directly on size and weight, so you aren't paying an unknown flat rate.

**And we always offer free Priority Mail shipping with orders over $100! (Send me a Convo after purchase for shipping reimbursement on combined orders over $100).

All of the items in my market are 100% French vintage items which I have purchased in France (unless otherwise noted). All vintage items are unique and may have slight oddities, faults and small damage. I do my very best to describe and photograph any and all defects (or charming quirks 😊) when I list the items and to take these issues into consideration when I price the item. To that end, I’m unable to accept returns or exchanges. But please feel free to contact me with any questions before you buy. I’m happy to answer them and/or provide additional photos.
