Today we pay big money for “artisan” cheese. But it wasn’t long ago when most households made their own fresh cheese at home. Unfortunately, they are becoming harder to find, especially in larger sizes. These functional yet marvelous ceramic cheese strainers were used to drain the liquid from the cheese. Today they can be just as functional as a kitchen strainer for sponges or a fruit and berry bowl.
