French Vintage Botanical with Antique French Frame - Large - No. 5
About a year ago, I came across an old vintage botanical notebook from Paris, originally likely created by a student of the botanical arts (c. 1940), with original handwriting to describe each one. The pages were falling out, so I wasn’t even really sure what I’d do with it, but I couldn’t pass it up. So framing in French frames seemed like a beautiful idea.
Note these are the actual, original 3-dimensional plant samples, not prints.
Prices are based on the botanical and how many are in the frame. They are also based on the frame itself, as some are new, some are vintage or upcycled and some are VERY old antique frames. And all include the cost of the framing. All of them have either the original glass or glare-free, conservation plexiglass. Shipping with insurance is included.

This is an authentic antique wood frame from France and is a treasure in itself. The frame itself is very old (c. 1850) and does have some defects (see photos), but is in great condition for its age and has a beautiful authentic old patina. The botanical is one page of botanicals with two specimens. The botanicals are blister sedge and sedge grass with a rust orange mat board for a warm, autumn feel.
The finished framed size is approximately 24” x 19” x 1”. There is an acid-free mat board and the glass is non-glare, conservation (UV protected) plexiglass. This frame comes with our favorite hanging device - Wall Buddies. Shipping and shipping insurance via UPS included.
