Red is the rarest color in French enamelware. Most pitchers that survive from the Belle Époque are white, blue, or grey. This one is red — deeply, unapologetically red — with white floral sprays scattered across the body and the characteristic aerographed shading that fades softly at the center. That gradient is not an accident. It is the signature of authentic period production.

This is a large French broc émaillé — the tall body pitcher that once stood on a washstand in a French bedroom, filled each morning for the daily ablution ritual. Circa 1900–1920. The form is classic: wide spout, generous looping handle, tapering body, white enamel interior. The condition is honest — one small chip to the body, wear consistent with a century of use — and it is exactly right for what this is.

There are a few very tiny rust holes in the bottom that make it not 100% watertight.  These could probably be repaired (maybe even glued?)
